I'm compiling details of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who attested in England in 1914 - including Alexander Walter Abbey - for the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Tragically, having survived the war while serving with the NZEF and later as an officer with the Royal Engineers, he was murdered in Bilbao.Many thanks for your help.Ann McDonald
